2025 Masterclasses

This year, we will offer special Masterclasses on select weeks, allowing you to dive deeper into certain topics. Join us to get more hands-on time with our speakers and work in smaller groups to learn more about select topics. Masterclasses will be on Tuesdays at 4:15. All Masterclasses will require registration prior to the event and include a small registration fee. Location, class size and price will vary by class. Scroll down to learn more!

Week 1: Wild Gardening

Tuesday, June 24th 4:15-5:45 pm at the Main Gate Parking Lot 

Wild Gardening with Betsy Burgeson.  Happening alongside the Native Plant Sale, in this hands-on Masterclass learning experience, you will learn how to design and plant your own wild garden! Bring gloves and plant or just watch and learn Tuesday afternoon at 4:15 in the Main Gate Parking Lot! 

Week 3: Edible Plants

Wednesday, July 9th 4:15-5:45 pm at Smith Wilkes Hall

Edible plants with Dr. Crystal Cavalier-Keck and Jason Crazy Bear Keck. Learn more about native plants to Chautauqua county that are edible! Join us Tuesday afternoon after Wawa Gatheru's lecture in Smith Wilkes Hall.

Week 6: A Deeper Dive into Biophilia: Practical Applications

Biophilia with Richard Piacentini is a chance to learn more about our innate want/need to connect with nature! Join us Tuesday afternoon after Richard's Brown Bag Lecture in Smith Wilkes Hall.

Week 8: Insect Walk

Tuesday, August 12th 4:15-5:45 pm

Join Judy Gallagher (Insect Macro-Photographer) for an insect walk in the afternoon after her lecture in Smith Wilkes Hall. This walk will allow you to get into the field and dive deeper into the world of bugs! This event will be capped at 40 people and includes a small registration fee.
