Week Nine: Lake Walk

A View of the Lake Through the Trees
Speaker/Guide: Rick Constantino
Location: Lakeside porch of the Youth Activities Center near Heinz Beach

Rick is senior biologist and eco-services manager at the Jamestown-based company, Forecon, Inc. Forecon provides arborist consulting services to Chautauqua Institution and continues to implement a Tree Inventory and Risk Assessment for all Institution-owned trees. Rick’s experiences and knowledge contribute to the growing perspective of combining beautiful trees with a beautiful view. Chautauqua Lake needs trees, both in its watershed and by its shoreline. Explore the importance of a view of the lake through the trees.

With a focus on land conservation and watershed education, the CWC, a 501C3 is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the water quality, scenic beauty and ecological health of the lakes, streams and watersheds of the Chautauqua region. Working with residents, landowners, landscapers, developers, contractors, public officials, and governmental entities, CWC promotes best land management practices and preserves and restores the waterways/sheds of the region. CWC has led efforts resulting in the conservation of more than 1,000 acres of land and 2 miles of shoreline! chautauquawatershed.org
