"Every Milkweed Matters"
Speaker/Guide: Beth Stevens Ph.D.
Location: Smith Wilkes Hall
Just as every single milkweed plant makes a difference for Monarch butterflies, every small action makes a difference for our environment. Be inspired to do your part after hearing stories of what youth, conservation organizations and corporations are doing to be stewards of the planet we share. Take this tangible valuable information that you've learned back home with you and change the world!
Beth recently retired after a 21-year career with Disney. As senior vice president of Corporate Citizenship for The Walt Disney Company, she was responsible for the company’s environment and conservation programs. Beth joined Disney to help open Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Her first role was as Conservation and Science Director, and then she, ultimately, was promoted to Vice President of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and Disney’s Animal Programs division.
Beth has served on several boards, including the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the International Rhino Foundation. She is currently Co-chair of the Board of the Jane Goodall Institute.
