Week Six: Gardening Workshop

Succulents to the Rescue
Speakers/Guides: Chris Flanders and Melinda Wolcott
Location: Smith Wilkes Hall

Tired of watering, snipping, dead heading? Succulents help bring new life to your containers; or for that matter begin the season with succulents. They do bloom, can grow in the same pots as non succulents and containers are a great hiding and thriving
place for those Christmas Cactus you have no idea what to do with all summer. They are your new best friends - the way you'll feel about Chris and Melinda at the end of this demonstration!.

From California in the off season and from Magnolia in the summertime, Melinda, a BTG life member,  is a well trained flower arranger, gardener and a new winery owner in CA. While living in Connecticut, she was a speaker on many gardening topics and a well published writer on gardening in the trade magazines.

Chris, a lifelong resident of CHQ county, attended CHQ since the 1960s and full time for the past four years. An avid sailor, retired Critical Care Nurse Practitioner, former horse breeder and trainer Chris achieved Master Gardener certification in 2013. As a board member of BTG she has found my home base in CHQ and holds dual roles as Chair of Butterflies and Blooms and garden lecturer.
