Week One: Garden Walk

Speaker/Guide: Sharon Reed
Location: Fletcher Music Hall

The Wednesday morning garden walks will focus on ecological gardening tips and techniques. Participants will learn the importance of using native plants, rain gardens and attracting pollinators and nature to your garden.

Sharon is a lifelong resident of Chautauqua County, with the exception of a few years when her profession called for a move to several other corporate locations. She has gardened since a child, although it may have seemed like a negative experience at the time, weeding the family vegetable garden instilled the passion she now enjoys. She has been involved with the Chautauqua County Master Gardener Association for more than six years. She loves to grow perennials and plants native to the region. In addition, she is a Master Food Preserver, so she not only grows her family food, she preserves it for future use.
